Stunning in Satin: 7+ Ideas for Your Satin Wedding Dress

White Short Satin Wedding Dress

If you've been searching for a wedding dress, there's a good chance you are familiar with satin.

Satin fabric comes in a variety of types, ranging from shiny satin charmeuse to matte duchess satin, and everything in between. Satin is one of the most common bridal fabrics, and for good reason! It's the perfect material for so many styles of wedding dresses, various silhouettes, and they're a classic, timeless fabric that will look amazing in wedding photos decades from now.

Today, we're sharing our favorite satin wedding dresses we've made. We love using satin in nearly every wedding dress we make, either as the lining material or as the main fabric. Get inspired by our portfolio of real HCC Brides' satin wedding gowns here!

Nebraska bride Jenny was married in a stunning rust satin gown, based on our ultra-popular Nora Gown! To make this dress her own, we replaced the back with skin-tone illusion mesh covered in hand-sewn floral embroidered lace appliques. Her gown also featured cap sleeves and a daring slit.

Kathy's Vintage-inspired Short Satin Wedding Dress

White Short Satin Wedding Dress

A friend of the designer, Nebraska bride Kathy wanted a vintage-inspired short satin wedding dress that was perfect for dancing.

She chose a classic V neckline with a swishy circle skirt that showcased a fun, colorful petticoat underneath!

We also attached a blingy bridal belt and sewed in small pieces of clothing from dear family members who had passed into the lining of her dress, right over her heart, so they would be with her on her wedding day.

Tiffany's Celestial Satin Wrap Dress

Ivory celestial Satin Wedding Dress with Slit and Sleeves

Nebraska bride and Hannah Caroline Couture model Tiffany knew exactly what her dream dress looked like after trying on dozens of our gowns over the years.

She combined our Satin Wrap Dress with our Nora Gown and added accents of sequin star mesh sleeves and appliques at the waist (do you see the shooting star shape we created?!).

Lana's Satin and Lace Mermaid Wedding Dress

Blue Satin and Lace Mermaid Wedding Dress

Alaska bride Lana dreamed of getting married on an Alaskan glacier, and she reached out to us to design a blue wedding gown that would highlight her curves and complement the stunning backdrop of the glacier! We had a blast finding the perfect lace and coordinating shades of blue for her lace and satin mermaid gown.

Her gown featured an illusion mesh and satin sweetheart bodice covered in sparkly teal hand-sewn lace appliques which flowed into a ruched tulle upper skirt that showed off her amazing figure. The skirt flowed into a mermaid silhouette with a bustled chapel-length train hemmed with more lace appliques.

Torrie's Satin and Tulle Ball Gown

Black Purple Satin Tulle Lace Wedding Dress

Nebraska bride Torrie customized our Barbera Gown with Beaded Tulle Skirt, adding detachable off-the-shoulder lace sleeves and mixing black and purple tulle for her skirt.

Her beaded tulle skirt was detachable, so she could remove both the sleeves and tulle skirt for her reception! This revealed a simple satin circle skirt wedding dress underneath that was perfect for dancing at her reception.

Daydreanne's Stunning Satin Wrap Dress
